The semi-finals of the first Business Women Excellence Awards 2016 – Sussex Edition took place at the Brighton Hilton Metropole Hotel with over 285 in attendance.

The judges included Katy Bourne the Sussex Police Commission, Bruce Hayter of Rix &Kay Solicitors, Amanda Menahem of Coast to Capital and Platinum Business Magazine and Graham Prince of Neva Consultants.
Penina Shepherd of Acumen Business Law said, “Receiving an accolade for your outstanding work achievements brings your successes to light, opens doors to new opportunities and builds a positive path for other women to follow. Women have made so much progress in business over the years that many awards programmes have been designed to highlight and recognise their exceptional skills and talents” Each of the finalist received a signed copy of her new book called “The Freedom Revolution”.
Faiza Shafeek of Carrot Events the organisers of these awards said: “Awards such as these give women a sense of extra determination whilst seeking to highlight Sussex’s best business women or the best businesses owned or co-owned by them, and from the number of entries we received for the first year and the massive interest shown, it is now known that these awards are set to be fixed in the Sussex calendar for many years to come. Many of today’s finalist are from various sectors of the business world, having achieved their success against all odds. They are trailblazers, breaking glass ceilings and working hard to remove so many barriers for other women by disrupting established industry norms through sheer guts and great innovation.”
All the selected finalist went through to the Glamorous Gala Final at the Brighton Hilton Metropole Hotel on the 25th November 2016.
